The Importance of Extracurricular Activities

An extracurricular activity is defined as "educational activities not falling within the scope of the regular curriculum." Everyone has had an encounter with an extracurricular activity,  whether it be big or small. My experiences may be different than the large majority of FLVS students, since  I'm homeschooled and have eight siblings.  Two years ago, our family took two weeks out of our normal school schedule to travel to California and back. We managed to do some "bookwork" on the road, but the majority of our learning was extracurricular.

Constructive Ways for Spending Your Summer

Summer is fast approaching, and as it gets closer students start to cram trips and events with friends into their few months of freedom. For high school students in particular, summers start to become less of a leisure experience. Summer turns into time to learn and to start preparing for the future. When we are planning our summers we have to now take into account our future goals, college ranking high on the list.
