French I: FLVS Learns a New Language
By Kelsey Gulick, Grade 9

You’re scrolling down the list of courses that FLVS offers. High school students are required to take two years of foreign language classes, but what to learn? FLVS has previously offered Chinese, Latin, and Spanish to students, but today, it offers something new.

Welcome to French I, a course where you will explore the various regions where the French language is spoken and become a fluent speaker and writer in the language of love! Whether you wish to look into the various careers in which this language is spoken or learn about the amazing culture of the French speaking world, this is the course for you.

You will learn things from the simplest pronunciation to learning how to speak and write basic sentences in this course. Counting all the way to a thousand in French is no problem! You’ll even learn about the weather of France. You will be able to impress your friends with sayings other than “bon voyage” as your mastery continues.

If you’ve been looking to learn a language that is different than what everyone else is taking and is offered on a simple, easy to use online course, then French I might just be the language for you!
